Your new role You will join Ramboll's Civil Engineering and Design team within the Environment & Health business. The team supports data center, mission-critical, industrial, and other large-scale development programs through site due diligence, conceptual master planning, preliminary engineering, permitting, detailed design, and construction support. You will collaborate with civil engineers, CAD designers, environmental specialists, geotechnical engineers, transportation professionals, utility specialists, and other technical disciplines. Your key responsibilities will be: Lead civil engineering and land development services for data center, mission-critical, and large industrial projects from site selection through construction. Manage project scope, schedule, budget, staffing, risk, client communication, proposals, and subconsultants across multiple projects. Direct technical work including site layout, grading, stormwater, drainage, utilities, access roads, erosion control, and permitting. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, agencies, and authorities while navigating codes, permitting requirements, and development standards. Review technical deliverables, mentor engineers and CAD staff, support team growth, and contribute to client development and market expansion. Qualifications About you Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Civil Engineering with approximately 5+ years of relevant civil/site engineering experience. Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred, with ability to obtain licensure by comity in target states. Extensive experience with land development and site civil design for large, complex projects, ideally in industrial, logistics, manufacturing, or mission-critical environments. Strong project management and technical expertise, including grading, drainage, stormwater, utilities, permitting, budgeting, scheduling, and client coordination. Experience working with AHJs and leading multidisciplinary teams; familiarity with Civil 3D and permitting practices in Pennsylvania, Washington, Texas, or Louisiana preferred. Additional skills: Strong ownership of project outcomes with a practical, solutions-oriented approach. About the Position: This is a Civil Engineer, GS-0810-12 position with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Southwestern Division, Fort Worth District, Engineering and Construction Division, located in Fort Worth, TX.

Summary About the Position: As a Technical Lead and Project Design Engineer you will be responsible for planning, designing, and coordinating civil and military infrastructure projects. This role involves establishing design criteria, preparing technical specifications, and developing comprehensive plans for diverse projects ranging from roads and drainage systems to utilities and HTRW site support across both civil works and military programs. Responsibilities Serving as Technical Lead for in-house military and civil works projects, coordinating the overall development of plans, specifications, and design documentation. Determining design criteria and adapting new design methods to existing standards as the Project Design Engineer. Developing design memoranda and specifications for infrastructure such as roads, boat ramps, drainage structures, and public use areas. Preparing site plans, preliminary and final designs, and specifications for infrastructure including roads, buildings, and utilities. Providing civil design support for Hazardous, Toxic, and Radioactive (HTRW) projects, including the development of site plans, drainage, and utilities. Combination of Education and Experience: College-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering. The adequacy of such background must be demonstrated by one of the following: 1. Professional registration or licensure - Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico. Absent other means of qualifying under this standard, those applicants who achieved such registration by means other than written test (e.g., State grandfather or eminence provisions) are eligible only for positions that are within or closely related to the specialty field of their registration. For example, an applicant who attains registration through a State Board's eminence provision as a manufacturing engineer typically would be rated eligible only for manufacturing engineering positions. 2. Written Test - Evidence of having successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination, or any other written test required for professional registration, by an engineering licensure board in the various States, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico. 3. Specified academic courses - Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and that included the courses specified in A above. The courses must be fully acceptable toward meeting the requirements of an engineering program. 4. Related curriculum - Successful completion of a curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree in an appropriate scientific field, e.g., engineering technology, physics, chemistry, architecture, computer science, mathematics, hydrology, or geology, may be accepted in lieu of a degree in engineering, provided the applicant has had at least 1 year of professional engineering experience acquired under professional engineering supervision and guidance. Ordinarily there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions. Minimum Qualifications for GS-11: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1.) Preparing engineering drawings, design calculations, and design estimates for standard civil works infrastructure under general technical supervision; 2.) Assisting in designing civil features including site plans, grading layouts, and basic drainage systems for military or public facilities.; 3.) Drafting technical specifications and sections of design memoranda for review by senior engineers and project managers; and 4.) Conducting site investigations and analyzed field data to identify potential design issues or site constraints during project planning phases. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Civil Engineering. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. Key Responsibilities + Support the design of airport and civil infrastructure projects throughout the Northeast. + Prepare plans for grading, drainage, stormwater management, utilities, pavement, roadways, and other airside and landside improvements. + Develop engineering calculations, reports, specifications, contract documents, and cost estimates. + Prepare and revise project drawings using AutoCAD and Civil 3D. + Coordinate with project managers, engineers, planners, clients, contractors, and subconsultants. + Complete site visits, field investigations, and seasonal construction observation as needed. + Review shop drawings, submittals, and requests for information. + Complete assigned work within established project schedules and budgets. Qualifications + Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. + Approximately 4–6 years of civil engineering or infrastructure-design experience. + EIT certification preferred. + Currently working toward Professional Engineer licensure. + Experience using AutoCAD and Civil 3D. + Revit experience is a plus. + Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. + Ability to work independently and as part of a project team. + Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as needed. + Background check required Benefits & Perks: + Competitive base salary starting at $39/hr plus a performance-based incentive payment plan/bonus structure. + Comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage. + Generous Paid Time Off, including Parental Leave. + Company funded ESOP + 401(k) employer match. + Ongoing technical training and professional development opportunities.
