About the Role A fast-growing, AI-powered Gen Z talent and gig marketplace is looking for a Brand Marketing Manager to own brand voice, content strategy, and creator programs across both student-facing and B2B partner channels. You'll be the connective tissue between a digitally native Gen Z audience and the brands that want to reach them — building emotional resonance with students while earning credibility with business partners. This is a high-ownership role at a scrappy, mission-driven startup (11–50 employees) that sits at the intersection of career tech, influencer marketing, and the gig economy. What You'll Do Define and steward the brand voice across both Gen Z student and B2B audiences; develop dual-audience content calendars and produce thought leadership that positions the company as a category leader. Own social media strategy for TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube Shorts (Gen Z) and LinkedIn (B2B); partner with the social team to create engaging content and experiment with new formats. Lead integrated cross-channel campaigns, experiential activations, and PR efforts designed to reach both students and brand partners simultaneously. Build and scale influencer and creator partnerships end-to-end — from sourcing and contracting through to ROI measurement — while cultivating long-term creator relationships. Monitor brand health metrics and analyze content performance across both audiences; iterate strategies based on data-driven insights. What We're Looking For Required: Proven experience developing and executing brand marketing strategies, including establishing and maintaining brand voice and overall content strategy. Demonstrated ability to lead social media campaigns across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts, and LinkedIn. End-to-end experience managing creator programs and influencer marketing campaigns (sourcing → execution → measurement). Ability to craft messaging that resonates with Gen Z student audiences while simultaneously building credibility with B2B brand partners. Comfortable and effective working in a hybrid environment. Strong fundamentals in marketing, communications, or a related discipline. Nice to Have: Experience at a marketplace, gig economy, or career/talent platform. Background in experiential marketing or PR. Familiarity with performance dashboards and content analytics tools. Years of experience: 4–6 years in brand marketing, content strategy, or a closely related role. Visa sponsorship: Not available. Location This is a hybrid role based in Santa Monica, CA. Candidates should be local or willing to relocate. Compensation & Benefits Compensation details were not provided for this role. Details will be discussed during the interview process. At Yardzen, we believe people are at their best when they’re outside. Our mission is simple: help people complete the outdoor spaces of their dreams. We start with design and stay with the project through the build, pairing homeowners with a dedicated representative who guides cost and design tradeoffs, matches them with multiple vetted local contractors, makes sense of the estimates, and helps them confidently hire the right one. The result is a finished yard, not just a plan. Since our launch in 2018, we've helped tens of thousands of homeowners transform their outdoor spaces, make sustainable choices, enhance property value, and enjoy life outdoors. We're transforming the $200 billion outdoor renovation industry with AI, data, and technology, making design effortless and the build clear, guided, and far less daunting from first idea to finished space. You’ll own the programs you build, including their results. This role requires a brand marketing athlete. You’ll do lots of things in this role, but first and foremost you’ll be a modern storyteller. Every single Yardzen client has a story. It’s through telling those stories individually and at scale that Yardzen’s brand really comes alive. This role reports into the Marketing Director. What you'll do: Brand Communications & Campaigns Define communications priorities and gain executive alignment on strategy and content approach that build the Yardzen brand with prospective clients. Track and report on partnership activation performance, share learnings, and evolve strategies accordingly. Public Relations & Storytelling Partner with the Director in owning the Yardzen PR strategy and activation (note, the Founder / CEO plays a big role here). Become expert on Yardzen’s data and trends we’re seeing across our platform and package them as stories, richly valuable to the publications our clients read. Form relationships with the right journalists, editors, creators, brand influencers and media properties to further the Yardzen leadership voice in the landscape market. You’ve been complimented on your writing skills your whole life. Bonus if you have experience in a premiere PR firm working on successful D2C brands. You’re a versatile generalist who’s excited to work across different types of marketing initiatives. You’re self motivated and are inclined to run, not walk. We move fast! You can write a killer pitch and show us a few that have resulted in excellent stories. You’re AI-confident but not reliant. Claude has nothing on your writing skills. You’re a real teammate, with goodness and grit. You’re proactive, resourceful, and comfortable working in a fast-moving environment with lots of ambiguity. So regardless of race, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, religion, origin, ability, age, or veteran status, if joining this mission speaks to you, we encourage you to apply! If you are an individual with a disability and would like to request a reasonable accommodation as part of the application or the recruiting process, please contact us at .
